Make sure he knows

Dear me,
Although you might not believe what I’m about to say… sadly enough it is true.

Just before I reveal the future and its fate, I want you to stop. Pick up your phone, call your dad. Say a cheery hello, tell him what you think of him, how much he means to you. All the things he’s ever done, how he’s one of the most precious people in the world to you. But most of all tell him you love him.

In a few years time you won’t have this privilege, sadly you’ll be faced with something you thought wouldn’t happen in many years to come. It will make you stronger; it will help put the world into perspective. How sometimes the little things do matter and perhaps the fact that you can’t attend that party really doesn’t matter anymore.

Although I am now only 19 years old, I’ve got a few life lessons that will help you along the way.

Don’t fall out with your best friend it doesn’t matter about that silly argument. She’ll be there for you when you really need it.

Take all the opportunities you can, but most of all revise… Especially Maths… You’ll thank me for it later.

Just if you listen to one thing… spend time with your dad, cherish it, laugh, and tell stories to one another. Accept all his faults; don’t argue with him, it doesn’t matter. Tell him EVERY night that you love him. Make sure he knows how much he means to you.

Be strong, be as happy as you can.

Jess

P.S. you’re stronger than you think, believe in yourself.
