What is J.K. Rowling writing these days? She’s penned the foreword to a new fall book called Dear Me: A Letter to My Sixteen-Year-Old Self, edited by Joseph Galliano
(Atria, $20, on-sale Oct. 25). More than 70 writers, actors, celebrities and musicians including Kathleen Turner, Suze Orman, James Franco and Aasif Mandvi share letters to their teen selves. Rowling writes in the foreword that she was touched by the letters’ “commonality … Nearly everyone who wrote, whether their letter is jolly or poignant, seems to have looked back on their younger selves with compassion.” A portion of the book’s proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.
