This volume was presented at the XLVth International Congress of Americanists, which was held at Stuttgart in the same year (LEEMANS, SCHMELTZ and KOEZE: 1904). Dr. H. TEN KATE (1916) published a short account of the material, while in later years Professor J. P. B. DE ]OSSELIN DE ]ONG (1918, 1919) devoted an extensive study to it. In 1890, during Van Koolwijk's stay on the island of Aruba, a Frenchman, A. L. PINART, paid a visit to the island, and in due course published some notes on his findings.
